Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 September 2026

This policy explains what personal data Offshore Marine Solutions collects through offshoread.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it. It covers this website only. It does not cover data you give us by email, by phone or in person during a service engagement, which is handled under our commercial agreement with your company.

What we collect, and why

Enquiries and requests for quotation

Our contact form asks for your name, email address, telephone number, subject and message. If you are requesting a quotation or arranging attendance, you may also choose to send us operational details such as vessel name, IMO number, port, ETA/ETD, equipment make and model, and previous service reports.

We use this to answer your enquiry, prepare a quotation, plan attendance and keep a record of the work. Vessel and equipment details are commercial information, but where they identify an individual — a named contact, a crew member, a signature on a service report — they are personal data and are covered by this policy. Please send only the details needed for the request.

Server logs and site security

Our web server and our security plugin (Wordfence) record IP addresses, browser user-agent strings, requested pages, timestamps and failed login attempts. This happens automatically for every visitor and is used to keep the site available, investigate faults and block attacks. We do not use these logs to build a profile of you.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. Details are in the section below.

What we do not do

  • We do not run analytics or advertising trackers. There is no Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel or similar tracking on this site.
  • We do not take payments on this website. Our catalogue is quote-only: products carry no price and cannot be bought online. We therefore collect no card or bank details through the site.
  • We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to anyone, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.
  • We do not send marketing emails from this website. There is no newsletter sign-up.
  • Comments are switched off across the site, so we collect no comment data.
  • We load no third-party fonts, scripts or embeds. All typefaces are served from our own server, so no font provider or content network receives your IP address when you view this site.

Cookies we use

  • Cookie consent — records your choice on the cookie banner so you are not asked repeatedly.
  • Language (Polylang) — remembers whether you are viewing the site in English, Greek, Italian, Dutch, Spanish or Arabic.
  • WooCommerce session — set by the catalogue software to keep your browsing session consistent. Because the shop is quote-only, no basket or order is created.
  • WordPress session and security cookies — set only if you log in to the site as a member of staff.

These cookies are necessary for the site to work or reflect a preference you have chosen. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings; parts of the site may then behave differently.

Who else processes your data

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract and on our instructions:

  • Our hosting provider — stores the website, its database and its backups. [CONFIRM: hosting company name and the country its servers are in.]
  • Wordfence — website security and firewall, which processes IP addresses to identify and block malicious traffic.
  • Imagify — compresses images uploaded to the site. It processes our own product and site images, not visitor data.
  • Our email provider — delivers enquiry messages to our team. [CONFIRM: email provider.]

Where your data is held and sent

Our website and its data are hosted [CONFIRM: country/region of hosting]. Where a provider listed above is located outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, your data may be transferred and processed abroad. We take reasonable steps to ensure such transfers meet the requirements of the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law and, where the visitor is in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, of the GDPR.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and quotation requests: retained for the duration of the commercial relationship and for [CONFIRM: e.g. 5 years] afterwards, so we can evidence what was quoted and what work was performed.
  • Service records and certificates: retained for as long as the certificate remains valid and for the period required by the applicable class, flag or regulatory requirement.
  • Server and security logs: retained for a short rolling period, typically [CONFIRM: e.g. 30 days], then overwritten.

Legal basis for processing

We process personal data under the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). Where a visitor is in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we also rely on the following GDPR legal bases:

  • Steps prior to entering a contract, and performance of a contract — handling your enquiry, preparing a quotation and delivering the service you requested.
  • Legitimate interests — keeping the website secure and available, and keeping records of work carried out. We balance this against your rights and keep the data involved to a minimum.
  • Legal obligation — retaining records where class, flag, tax or company law requires it.
  • Consent — non-essential cookies, where applicable. You may withdraw consent at any time.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions of the applicable law, you have the right to:

  • ask what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it
  • have inaccurate data corrected, and incomplete data completed
  • ask us to delete data where we no longer have a valid reason to keep it
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing
  • receive data you provided to us in a portable format, where that right applies
  • withdraw consent where our processing relies on it

To exercise any of these, email info.saudi@offshoread.com with “Data request” in the subject line. We will respond within the period required by the applicable law. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act, so that we do not disclose data to the wrong person.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), which supervises the PDPL. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may instead complain to your national data protection supervisory authority.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, access to the administration area is restricted to named staff accounts, and a firewall and malware scanner run continuously. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

Children

This is a business-to-business website for the commercial shipping and offshore industry. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data — for example by adding analytics, a newsletter or online payments — we will update this policy and change the date at the top before the new processing begins.
